Yuyuan Garden is located at the side of Old Town God's Temple in the Huangpu District of Shanghai. Built in 1559, the 38th year of Jiajing Reign of Ming dynasty, Yuyuan Garden is originally designed for its owner - Pan Yunduan's aging father to enjoy his old age. The name of Yuyuan garden is associated with the homophonic sound of "yu (satisfying) the aging parents".
