The lesser spotted eagle (Clanga pomarina) is special for Latvia, as approximately one-fifth of the entire population of lesser spotted eagles in the world nests specifically in Latvia. The lesser spotted eagle is a medium-sized bird of prey, whose wingspan can reach 150 centimetres. It has long and broad wings with jagged tips and it features brown plumage.

The three new postage stamps depict fundamental facts of the Song and Dance Celebration movement, events and personalities.

The stamp with a face value of € 0.54 is dedicated to the Song celebration. The centre of the stamp depicts the legendary choir conductor Haralds Mednis, bet the background includes several other prominent Latvian choirmasters and Song Celebration chief directors.

The tradition of Dance Celebration is featured on the stamp with the face value of € 0.57. The stamp depicts two dancers in traditional national costumes of Barta (Bārta) parish.

The third stamp with the face value of € 1.42 renders the image of Ligo banner of the Song Celebration, which was created along with the first Latvian Song Celebration in 1873.

The FDC was autographed by artist Elita Viliama, author of the stamps of the entire series Republic of Latvia – 100.

The “Macau: Back to Common Roots”, created by Lok Hei in the format of Chinese traditional scroll painting, depicting a place where East and West meet since the Ming Dynasty until present. The 100 meters long fiber pen drawing links closely together the outstanding and representable events and elements.

The stamp depicts the front page of the special issue of the newspaper Diena that came out on the 21st of August 1991. This issue contained the published Constitutional Law On the Statehood of the Republic of Latvia adopted by the Supreme Council of the Republic of Latvia, which restored the de facto national independence of the Republic of Latvia.

On the FDC, there is an autograph of the artist Arta Ozola Jaunarāja. Thank You very much to my friend !

The HONG KONG 2015 – 31st Asian International Stamp Exhibition (HONG KONG 2015) was held from November 20 to 23 at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Hongkong Post set up a Temporary Post Office at the exhibition venue. The two covers above were sent from the Temporary Post Office. The second cover, with Temporary Post Office-2 datestamp postmark was autographed by Ms. Shirman Lai, who was the designer of the "18 Districts in Hong Kong" stamp affixed on the top right of the cover.

October is the international Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In Latvia, breast cancer is among the most widespread oncologic diseases and causes of death for women.

The pink ribbon depicted in the stamp Breast cancer diagnostics shows understanding, solidarity and support to people affected by breast cancer; the symbol was created in the beginning of the 1990s in the United States.

$1.40 : Paper-cutting is a traditional Chinese art. The distinctiveness of snakes is captured by incorporating Chinese paper-cutting techniques.

$2.40 : Rendered in Chinese ink and wash painting, the slithering movement of a snake is vividly portrayed in the stamp, highlighting the style of the Lingnan School of Painting.

$3 : Seal carving, commonly known as Zhuanke, is a type of traditional art originated in China. The stamp depicts two seals - one carved with the bronze inscription of the word "snake" (left) and the other with a motif of a snake (right).

$5 : Jade carving is one of the oldest carving arts in China. A coiled snake shape jade pendant depicted in the stamp is carved according to the natural colour and shape of the jade.

On the FDC, you can see the autograph of the stamp designer, Mr. KAN Tai-keung and also the autograph of the Postmaster General, Mrs Jessie Ting Yip Yin-mei.
