LatviaA Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) cover with the special cancellation of "The 150th Birthday of Jāzeps Vītols".
Jāzeps Vītols (1863-1948) was an outstanding Latvian composer and music teacher. During his life the composer wrote approximately 100 solos, 100 choral songs and 300 folk song arrangements. His best-known works include The Castle of Light (Gaismas pils), The Bard of Beverina (Beverīnasdziedonis), The King's Daughter (Karaļmeita), Mirdza's Song (Mirdzasdziesma), and Mežezers. In 1919, Vītols participated in the establishment of the first Latvian conservatory (now Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music).
