All post boxes in Malaysia are painted in red colour, with the exception of PosEkspres post boxes which are painted yellow. Various types of post boxes are available in Malaysia including:
- Lamp box which derives its name from the fact that they were designed to be affixed to lamp posts or mounted on poles
- Pillar box which is a free-standing post box
- Wall box which are generally set into a wall or brick pillar
