A famous scenic area in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Slender West Lake was originally a city moat and later converted into a man-made lake. The Slender West Lake Scenic Area covers an area of 1.04 square kilometers, with its water surface stretching for about 4500 meters in length.
The year 2015 marks the 2500th anniversary of Yangzhou City and the 100th birthday of Sun Chuanzhe, one of China's earliest postage stamp designers. The three paintings that the special stamp set "Slender West Lake" bears were all created by the late stamp designer Sun Chuanzhe.
