A famous scenic area in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Slender West Lake was originally a city moat and later converted into a man-made lake. The Slender West Lake Scenic Area covers an area of 1.04 square kilometers, with its water surface stretching for about 4500 meters in length.

The year 2015 marks the 2500th anniversary of Yangzhou City and the 100th birthday of Sun Chuanzhe, one of China's earliest postage stamp designers. The three paintings that the special stamp set "Slender West Lake" bears were all created by the late stamp designer Sun Chuanzhe.

Eleven members of Kibbutz Beit Hashita fell in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Kibbutz member Dorit Tzameret wrote the poem to commemorate the fallen on the first anniversary of the war.

Vladimír Dzurilla (born on August 2, 1942) is a legendary goalkeeper of Czechoslovak and Slovak ice hockey. He represented Czechoslovakia in 139 games. He is a three-time world champion (1972, 1976, 1977), a participant in three Winter Olympics (1964 – bronze medallist, 1968 – silver, 1972 – bronze), and in eight world championships, winning three gold, two silver and three bronze medals.

The 'Painting of Beauties with Fan in Hand' is a coloured silk scroll painting, measuring 33.7cm by 204.8cm, currently in the collection the Palace Museum. The painting bears no signature of the creator, but it is said to be attributable to Zhou Fang in late Tang Dynasty. This painting depicts 13 imperial concubines and maids, who sit idly with a fan in hand, seem ready to play strings, doll themselves up in front of mirror, do embroidery, or rest idly while waving a fan.
