150th Anniversary of Latvia University of Agriculture

The stamp depicts the Jelgava Palace and the coat of arms of the LUA with the motto of the university: Proventus pro patria or For the Growth of the Fatherland.
In 1863, an Agriculture Faculty was established in the Riga Polytechnical Institute, creating the foundation of the present-day Latvia University of Agriculture. Over the years, it has grown into an important national university with eight faculties, around 5,000 students and a teaching staff of more than 300.
