5-1 : Chen Yannian (陳延年)
Chen Yannian (1898 - 1927), a native of Huaining, Anhui Province, son of Chen Duxiu (陳獨秀). He went to France in 1919, studying there while working part-time. Joining the CPC in 1922, he once served as a member of the CPC Central Committee. He organized and participated in the 1925 Canton - Hong Kong strike. He was killed in Longhua, Shanghai, in July 1927.

5-2 : Zhang Tailei (張太雷)
Zhang Tailei (1898 - 1927), a native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province, joined the CPC in October 1920. He was an alternate member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and a member of the ad hoc Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He organized and launched the Guangzhou Uprising in December 1927, and died in the battle.

5-3 : Luo Yinong (羅亦農)
Luo Yinong (1902 - 1928), a native of Xiangtan, Hunan Province, joined the CPC in 1921. He once served as a member of the CPC Central Committee, a member of the ad hoc Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and a member of the Standing Committee of the ad hoc Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. He organized and led Shanghai workers to launch three armed uprisings. He was killed in Longhua, Shanghai, in April 1928.

5-4 : Yun Daiying (惲代英)
Yun Daiying (1895 - 1931), a native of Wujin, Jiangsu Province. Becoming a member of the CPC in 1921, he organized and launched the Nanchang Uprising and Guangzhou Uprising. He once served as a member of the CPC Central Committee. In April 1931, he was killed in Nanjing.

5-5 : Xiang Ying (項英)
Xiang Ying (1898 - 1941), a native of Wuchang, Hubei Province, was one of the founders and major leaders of the New Fourth Army. He joined the CPC in 1922 and served as a member of the third, fourth, fifth and sixth CPC Central Committee, a member of the Standing Committee of the sixth CPC Central Committee and its politburo member. He and Chen Yi led a three-year guerrilla war in southern China. Xiang Ying died in March 1941 when breaking out of an encirclement during the Southern Anhui Incident.
