The predecessor of the National Library of China was the Beijing Library established in 1909. Today, the library, consisting of its headquarters north of Beijing's Zizhuyuan Park and the Ancient Books Library west to Beihai Park, is a national repository of the home publications, a national bibliographic center, and a national center of ancient books protection.
Another very nice China stamp issue. Last year, both China and India issued stamps for the Beijing Olympic Games on the very special day of 08-08-08. This year, both China and India issued stamps on the special day of 09-09-09. On the FDC above, you can see how China Post present on their postmark the special date 09-09-09. On the datestamp, it reads "2009.09.09". On the special cancellation, it reads "2009.9.9"
