On 1 April 2017, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council issued a notice on the establishment of the Xiongan New Area in Hebei Province. According to plan, the Xiongan New Area covers Xiongxian, Rongcheng and Anxin counties and the neighboring areas in Hebei Province.
