On 26 June 1945, delegates from 50 countries around the World passed and signed the Charter of the United Nations (which was signed later by Poland) at the UN Conference on International Organization in San Francisco, USA. The same year, on 24 October, the UN officially came into being upon ratification of the Charter by China, France, Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as a majority of other signatories. The UN now has 193 member states with its headquarters in New York City.

The Black Stork is a migratory bird. It lives in Europe and Asia in spring and summer, and winters in Africa. The Black Stork arrives in Europe in March or April and leaves in August or September. It lives in forests, from lowlands up to an altitude of about 1000m above sea level.

Hongkong Post releases a set of four stamps on the theme of "World Post Day". At the heart of the stamp design are flying pigeons which are formed by crossed hands to represent letters being delivered to different places and symbolise the worldwide coverage of postal services.
The $1.7 stamp FDC was cancelled with a GPO-1 datestamp postmark. The GPO-1 datestamp postmark is also depicted on the pigeon of the $1.7 stamp.
The $3.7 stamp FDC was cancelled with a CMC-3 double ring datestamp postmark. The CMC-3 double ring datestamp postmark is also depicted on the pigeon of the $3.7 stamp.
The $5 stamp FDC was cancelled with a machine cancellation. The machine cancellation is also depicted on the pigeon of the $5 stamp.

Deadly webcap (Cortinarius rubellus) is orange brown with a sharp dullish cap. It is as dangerous as the white amanita. The cellular poisons of the damage mainly the kidneys. The latent period of the poisonous cortinaria have a characteristi-cally long latent period from two to seventeen days.

In 1965, the Institute of Biochemistry under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) joined hands with Peking University and the Institute of Organic Chemistry under CAS to complete the total synthesis of crystalline bovine insulin. This was the first synthesized protein with full biological activity and identical chemical structure to native insulin molecules.

The stamp depicts M.K. Oginskis' portrait and a notes motif recorded on a stave of his well-known polonaise Atsisveikinimas su tėvyne (A Farewell to the Homeland) (a-moll No. 13) in the background.
Nowadays, M. K. Oginskis is mostly known as a composer, the author of Europe-famous mazurkas, marches, minuets, waltzes and polonaises, particularly Atsisveikinimas su tėvyne (A Farewell to the Homeland). To Serve the Homeland – that was M. K. Oginskis' life motto.
