Historical Anniversaries: 150 Anniversary of the Memorandum of the Slovak Nation
Date of Issue : 6 June 2011
The stamp contains the portraits of Š. M. Daxner and J. Francisci, the main organizers of the Memorandum assembly and a young man portraying Slovakia in the background with a woman representing freedom, tearing her chains. The assembled representatives of the nation on the FDC are portrayed by the styled eagle as the symbol of freedom and independence. The stamp contains a lime twig as the modern symbol of the Slavs, as well as the symbol of a meeting place (Under lime-trees).
The special stamp deals with one of the most significant events of the modern Slovak history – declaration of the Memorandum of the Slovak Nation on June 6 – 7, 1861 at the national assembly in Martin. At that time the Memorandum was not successful, its ideas, however, were the basis of the Slovak political programme until 1938.

Children´s Stamp
Date of Issue : 3 June 2011
The artwork of the postage stamp originates from the national art competition MONTH OF CHILDREN’S CREATION conducted by professor Karol Ondreička. The competition’s topic I WILL DRAW A FLOWER CHILDREN’S STAMP was suggested by Martin Vančo. The national art competition is dedicated to both physically and mentally handicapped children regardless of age. In 2010, the national competition included artwork by five thousand children from almost 400 special and integrated elementary schools, children’s homes, and welfare and re-educational institutions.
A very nice and colorful Slovak FDC. The denomination of "T2 50g" responds to the rate of postage of the 2nd class up to 50g - domestic service. On the FDC, there are also old Children's stamp of 2005 (upper left, in old slovak crown currency) and 2008 (bottom left). Really beautiful ! Thank You very much !

Yunjin brocade, a local specialty of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is an elegant silk fabric that has been preserved as a traditional handicraft. Its name, literally "cloud brocade", derives from its refined design with splendid colors reminiscent of clouds. Traditionally divided into several types, such as Kuduan (jacquard brocade), Kujin (brocade with gold threads), and Zhuanghua (brocade with multicolored threads). Gold threads are often used to give the handicraft a noble touch and magnificent grandeur. Thus, during the Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1911) dynasties, the brocade products were primarily presented as tributes to the royal family. In 2006, China's State Council included the wooden-loom Zhuanghua hand-weaving techniques of Nanjing Yunjin brocadeon the First List of National Intangible Cultural Heritage. In 2009, the craftsmanship of Nanjing Yunjin brocade was inscribed by UNESCO on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
