90th Anniversary of Estonia parliament, Riigikogu
Date of Issue : 14 Apr 2009
The Republic of Estonia was born on 24 February 1918 and the next year the people elected the Constituent Assembly. The Constituent Assembly had its first session on April 23, the day on which the anniversary of the parliament is marked today. On May 1919 a declaration of Estonia’s national independence was passed and on 15 June 1920 it endorsed the first Constitution of the Republic of Estonia. From 23 April 1919 to 20 December 1920 the Constituent Assembly held 170 sessions during five periods and passed more than 800 legal acts. The Constituent Assembly had unlimited authority; it appointed governments, received their resignations, endorsed the state budget and decided issues of war and peace. According to the Constitution of 1920 Estonia was a democratic parliamentary republic. Supreme power was vested in the people and it could exercise its will through parliamentary elections, referendums and the right of popular initiative. On 20 December 1920 the Constituent Assembly was dissolved and it passed on its credentials to the parliament, called Riigikogu (State Assembly).

The design of the souvenir sheet is really very nice. I think it is better than that of Hong Kong

Norway Postcard - Reine

Norway
This card shows a very peaceful view of Reine, located at the north of Norway. On the card, there are two beautiful stamps. One stamp bear the country name "Norge". This is what most Norwegians call their own country. Another one with the country name "Noreg", which is in nynorsk, a rarer variety of written Norwegian. Both varieties are allowed on stamps, banknotes and official documents, because the two written forms are supposed to be co-equal. Very interesting.

The 60th Anniversary of the Republic of Korea Marine Corps
Date of Issue : 15 Apr 2009
The Republic of Korea Marine Corps was established in 1949 from the need to implement “dual land-and-water operations” due to the geographic characteristics of the Korean peninsula, with three sides of the nation surrounded by the sea. The Marine Corps has fought for its fatherland and maintained peace during the Korean War, Vietnam War, etc. During the past 60 years, it has also dispatched to Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia, India, Pakistan, Djibouti, etc.
The stamp features the Marine Corps engaged in a coordinated landing operation with the Korea Amphibious Armored Vehicle (KAAV), Dokdoham (Landing Platform Helicopter) and helicopters. Reflecting the symbol of the Marine Corps, the octagonal hat, the new stamp is issued as an octagon-shaped stamp.
This octagon-shaped stamp is so special and colourful. I really like it.

~~~ Issued on 12 Nov 2008
The cover above was sent from Macau Central Post Office on 23 Mar 2009 (my birthday). I just affixed 3 Macau ATM stamps with a total face value of MOP1.5 out of the normal surface mail postage of MOP3.5. I asked my friend in Taiwan to help me to pay the postage due and sent it back to me. My friend was so kind to help me to do the necessary work and affixed with 5 Taiwan postage due stamps. On the cover, you can see the round-shaped T 2.00/3.50 postmark from Macau and a rectangle-shaped T postmark from Taiwan. I think this cover is really nice. Thank You very much to my friend.
The carmine pot with design of dragon and phoenix playing with peony dating to reign of Qing Emperor Jiaqing, large in size and beautiful and radiant in color, is of high artistic value.
The cloisonné enamel grass holder with the design of brance-tangled peony, dating to the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), features a greaceful shape and gorgeous design patterns. It is considered an outstanding representative of cloisonné enamelobjects of the later Qing period.
This is a very nice Algerian FDC. It may be even better if the 10 dinars "Algerian Cities" stamp (affixed at the right side of the FDC cover, issued on 18 Dec 2008) could be affixed on the back of the FDC cover.
