The Manín Gorge was declared a national nature reserve in 1967.With land area of 117.63 ha, it is situated between the two distinct peaks of Veľký Manín (890 m) and Malý Manín (812 m), which at one time constituted a continuous limestone ridge.

A species of migratory birds, the mandarin duck belongs to the genus Aix of the family Anatidae in the order Anseriformes and is under state second-class protection in China. In the breeding season, male and female mandarin ducks are often seen swimming pairs. For this reason, mandarin ducks are regarded as a symbol of conjugal love.
A nice cover from Timor Leste (East Timor), with a set of two stamps issued by United Nations Transitional Authority in East Timor (UNTAET, 1999-2002). The stamp set was issued on 29 April 2000.
