On the cover, I just affixed a "Year of the Goat" ATM stamps of 1.5 Pataca out of the normal postage of 3 Patacas. On 18 February, I went to the GPO to get the mail and paid the postage due. The postage due should be : ((1.5 / 3) x 2.3) + 4 = HK$5.2. On the cover, you can see the round-shaped T 1.5/3 postmark from Macau and a Hong Kong "To Pay" chop.

The two covers above were sent on 19 February 2015, the first day of the Chinese new year and were cancelled with CMC-1 (Central Mail Center) double ring datestamp postmark. The stamps affixed on these two covers are Hong Kong Year of the Ram stamp set and Heartwarming personalised stamps. Wishing you all good luck and success in the Year of the Ram.

6-3 : Jingzhe (Awakening of Insects)
6-4 : Chunfen ( Vernal Equinox)
6-5 : Qingming (Clear and Bright)
6-6 : Guyu (Grain Rain)

The 24 Solar terms, created in ancient China in accordance with the sun's position on the ecliptic, comprises 24 seasonal division points in a year. Each Term is about 15 days. The set of stamps illustrates six terms of spring season in the 24 solar terms.

Ariel Sharon

Major General Ariel Sharon, 11th Prime Minister of the State of Israel, was born in Kfar Malal on February 26, 1928.

In February 2001, he was elected Prime Minister for the first time. Sharon led the fight against rampant terrorism, Operation Defensive Shield and construction of the separation fence. After his second overwhelming election victory in January 2003, he initiated the plan for unilateral disengagement from Gaza.

On January 4, 2006 Sharon suffered a stroke and never regained consciousness.
On January 11, 2014 Ariel Sharon passed away and was buried on a hillside near his home in Havat Hashikmim.

The portrait of Ariel Sharon featured on the stamp is based on a photograph by Saar Yaacov, GPO.

Israel – Philippines Joint Issue, The Open Doors Monument

Date of Issue : 27 January 2015

The Open Doors Monument is located at the center of the Memorial Garden in the city of Rishon LeZion. It was dedicated in 2007 and marks the assistance the Philippines provided to Jewish refugees during WWII.

The monument was created by Philippine artist Mr. Jun Yee.
